Today is Sadee’s fifth birthday. A whole hand birthday! What a difference you’ve made in my life, sweet girl.
I remember like yesterday, the day you were born. You were born at 11:21 a.m. at Baylor hospital in Grapevine. We waited allll night long. What finally got you here was my determination to meet you. I didn’t want to go one more second without holding you in my arms. The first thing I said to you when I saw your beautiful face, was “My Angel!” It wasn’t planned, but I said it before I even thought about it.
You were the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. And you had just been in the presence of God. What more pure and wholesome thing is there in THIS world?
You were a wonderful baby. You were so content to just be. We were so blessed!
You have grown through the years and you’ve brought us so much joy.
I am so very grateful God chose me and your daddy to guide you through your life. May we always remember how important we are to your development.
Finally, my sweet girl, I am so amazed by you every day. You’re already the best big sister a boy could ask for. I pray you and your brother are the best of friends, always. You show me so much love and grace and you have made my life so complete. You are so smart and compassionate and you have the most wonderful sense of humor. Just last week when I was all out of energy, you let me know how important it was that I step it up for you. When I said, “kid, you’re wearin’ me out,” you came right back with, “grown-up, you’re wearin’ ME out!”
So today, as I reflect back on these last five wonderful years with you, I want to let the world know how much I love you. You are the light in my world and I am so thankful for you.
